I write to invite you to attend a meeting of the Recreation and Amenities Committee to be held on Thursday 26^th October 2023 at 7.00 pm in Room 16 at the Haling Dene Centre.

4. MINUTES

[a]    To approve the minutes of the meeting of 27^th July 2023 and to consider matters arising therefrom.

[b]    To receive the Follow Up Sheets from the July meeting.

5. INCOME/EXPENDITURE

[a]     To receive the Recreation and Amenities printouts for the year to date.

[b]     To receive the Burial Ground printouts for the year to date.

6. COMMITTEE BUDGET 2024/2025

[a]     To note the item of improvement/project for the 2024/2025 financial year will be as per the one year plan.

7. PLAY AREAS

[a]     To note the train for the Horsefair Play Area has been delivered and will be installed shortly.

[b]     To receive an email from the Penkridge Gentleman Spoofers following their offer of a bench for the Horsefair Play Area asking Council to decide the colour of the bench.

[c]     To receive the PA’s update with regard to Heron Play Area.

[d]     Following the RoSPA report advising that part of the Adventure Trail at Kempson Road had to be removed due to deterioration a replacement has been ordered from Kompan at a cost of £2,383.

[e]     Following the disappearance of the Wildlife Camera in the Haling Dene Grounds to note a camera has been kindly donated to the Parish Council and to decide where this should be located.

8. HIGHWAY LIAISON

[a]     Following the September Full Council agreement that the above come under the remit of the Recreation and Amenities Committee to prioritise three areas to be addressed in the first instance, giving consideration to costs, health, safety and danger elements.

9. TRAFFIC ISLAND

[a]     To consider if the Parish Council should take over the responsibility of maintaining the traffic island by Bloor Homes.

10      ALLOTMENTS

[a]     To note that following the earlier incidents at both allotments sites there has been no incidents since.

[b]     To consider the allotments charge for 2025.

11. PENKRIDGE COMMUNITY MANAGED LIBRARY

[a]     To receive the notes from the meeting with SCC. Library Volunteers on 13^th September 2023.

12. BURIAL GROUND TABLE OF FEES

[a]     To consider if the Committee wish to increase the above for 2024-2025.

13. POND FENCE

[a]     To note the materials for the repair to the pond fence have now been received from Carnell and the work will be undertaken shortly.

14. DATE AND TIME OF NEXT MEETING

Thursday 25^th January 2023 at 7.00 pm.

15. Local Government Act 1972 – Exclusion of Press and Public – to resolve that the Press and Public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in the appropriate paragraph(s) Section 1[2] Public Bodies/Admission to meetings Act 1960.
